Publisher's Note

Summer is upon us and school will be out soon. We can’t believe that 2009 is almost half over! And maybe that’s a good thing. The recession has been tough on families and most businesses, especially small businesses that rely on a steady stream of retail customers and orders. We’re amazed by the resiliency of the business owners that we come in contact with during our travels. Despite the “gloom and doom” naysayers and the negative stories that saturate us continuously, Philadelphians remain positive, caring and involved in all facets of daily living. Instead of displaying poor attitudes and lousy service, smart businesses and their employees have turned the tables and amaze us daily with a smile and encouraging words. You know who you are! Keep it up and you’ll continue to win customers and keep your businesses afloat during these “tough” times.

If you know of any businesses that exemplify what you just read, send us their names and contact details. We want to profile them in our next issue.

Thanks for your continued support and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

Have a safe and relaxing first two months of summer. We’ll be back in early August.
