Welcome to The Philadelphia Women’s Journal!
I am so excited to provide this new publication of education and information to the women of Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. Please read the articles and pass them on to your friends and family.
As you will see, we are not a “regular” newspaper. Each issue will provide articles written by local professionals and business owners on topics important to women. The knowledge and experience of qualified, community professionals can be resources that can help you make informed decisions on matters of life, leisure, health, home and many other topics.
Because The Philadelphia Women’s Journal is an educational, community-based publication, we like to incorporate people and organizations that make a difference in our community. In this specific issue, you will see the common theme of cancer awareness. As all of us know, cancer is one of the leading causes of death among Americans.
I would like to dedicate this inaugural issue to my grandfather, Donald T. Perrotta, who passed away in May of 2007 from Lymphoma, one of the most aggressive types of cancer. Pop Pop was a wonderful grandfather, husband, father, uncle, and friend to many. Everywhere I look, I see women dedicating themselves to their families, friends and communities. The Philadelphia Women’s Journal is here to recognize you and to celebrate your roles and accomplishments. Look for our publication throughout the area.
The PWJ is published bi-monthly and will be available throughout Philadelphia and the Main Line. Here’s to you, the women of the Delaware Valley.
