Marcella Bossow Schankweiler is currently President and founder of Crossing the Finish Line (CFL), a nonprofit cancer organization started by Marci and her late husband, Peter R. Bossow, in 1999. In her tenure as director, Marci, with her team of employees, volunteers and colleagues, has solicited funds to support the organization’s goal – providing respite excursions to young adult cancer patients and their caregivers. More than 2000 people have benefited from the life-altering services that CFL offers. Marci’s efforts have been recognized in several national publications and press articles. She was one of ten woman chosen for the Halo Award in 2005, a national award presented by Family Circle magazine.

Redbook featured her and her family in its “How She Does It” column. She was honored as CEO of the week by The Philadelphia Business Journal and recently was awarded the distinguished honor of being one of the Top 75 Living Philadelphians by The Daily News, Philadelphia Eagles and Dunkin Donuts. She was also a local Hometown Hero chosen by PECO Energy Company. Marci’s philosophy in life is summed up by the words she inscribed on her past husband’s wedding ring, Carpe Diem. She enjoys laughter and love with her second husband, Mark, and her two young children, Maura and Rose. Marci is an alumna of Mt. St. Joseph Academy and pursued a teaching degree in Mathematics from LaSalle University. She attended Temple University Law School and completed her law degree in 1995. She later received an LLM in Taxation in May, 1998, also from Temple University Law School. She resides in North Wales, PA.
