Erin is a co-founder of SAVE 2ND BASE. Save 2nd Base is an apparel/accessories business that carries a strong message regarding breast cancer awareness. Erin fell into her philanthropic business by fate. The company and its name is inspired by Erin’s late sister, Kelly Rooney who passed away from breast cancer at the age of 42, leaving 5 children and a husband determined to honor her legacy.
Fifty percent (50%) of Save 2nd Base’s profits benefit The Kelly Rooney Foundation, a 501(3)(c) that funds research focused upon the increased prevalence of breast cancer diagnosis in women under 40. Save 2nd Base has received national exposure in Newsweek magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Vanity Fair magazine, local Philadelphia newspapers and various influential blogs. Save 2nd Base/The Kelly Rooney Foundation is based in the Philadelphia area and its proceeds benefit Philadelphia non-profits: breastcancer.org and the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center. In addition to her work, Erin has a supportive husband, David and is a mother to four rambunctious kids. To learn more about Save 2nd Base & The Kelly Rooney Foundation, visit their websites:
